Please Do Not Approach Nutria Rats

Nutria may look harmless but feeding and approaching them causes serious problems for our community and environment. Nutria are invasive rodents that damage shorelines, drainage systems, and vegetation by burrowing and overgrazing. Feeding them encourages overpopulation, increases property damage, and can lead to aggressive behavior and health concerns.

For the safety of residents, pets, and our waterways, please do not feed or approach nutria. Protecting our environment starts with all of us.
